What do you desire when selecting your next car? With so many different primary functions of certain chassis’ it can be hard to find the right one for you. Robert on the other hand, knew exactly what he needed to fill the void. A car that, regardless of the mood, would guarantee a smile every time put in drivers seat. The ability of the E30 chassis as we know it is infinite; drifting, rally, hill-climb.. It is easy to get carried away building your perfect car. Although this E30 has many moving parts, it is quit simple.
Stock suspension components keep this E30 riding smooth down the interstate and maintains a high enough ride height to keep the underside of the uni-body safe on off-the-grid excursions. A set of 205/65R15 A/T tires raises the body height without compromising suspension travel, allowing this E30 to handle dips and bumps without upsetting the balance.
With the added weight of the wheels and tires, this machine was undoubtedly begging for more power. The original economy M20B27 was removed and disassembled. A cylinder head from an M20B25 was used in place of the original cylinder head, with upgraded cam, HD rockers, and race headers.
To pay homage to factory BMW heritage, individual throttle bodies were added along with a MegaSquirt standalone engine management system to control everything. With a factory feeling integration, the modifications are seamless, you couldn’t tell until you were shown that this is no ordinary BMW E30.
Decisions were made to keep the full original interior intact with the exception of a chassis mounted shift selector and an Mtechnic I steering wheel. The exterior underwent a few changes to aesthetically please the eyes of any enthusiast with European market bumpers, headlights, and grilles.
